PARENTS and carers of P7 pupils have been invited to an open evening at Beath High School.

The brand new venture is designed to give them the chance for an informal chat with current students, teachers and department heads.

It's set to run from 6.30-8pm on Wednesday October 5 and is primarily aimed at parents who currently don't have any kids at Beath High.

Rector Douglas Young explained: "The evening itself will be very informal and have a light touch. No big presentations or speeches are planned!

"What you will have is the opportunity to listen to and meet some of our current pupils as well as an opportunity to meet and talk to representatives of every faculty in the school.

"It will, hopefully, give you a feel of Beath High School and make you aware of all the opportunities and outcomes we provide for our pupils."

He added: "One thing we would say is that this evening is designed for the parents. The children will have a full induction programme planned out in the session ahead and this evening is not part of that.

"So, to make the numbers manageable, we ask that only parents / carers attend – no P7 pupils on this occasion."
