THERE'S going to be traffic disruption in the centre of Lochgelly for at least five months due to "essential" gas works.

Upgrades to the network in the Main Street area are currently being carried out but the improvements won't be completed until January.

In the meantime drivers could be affected by the works.

Bradley Barlow, spokesperson for gas distribution company SGN, told the Times: "We’re currently working to upgrade our gas network in Main Street, Lochgelly.

"For everyone’s safety, we’re asking road users to use give and take around our work area.

"We expect to complete our essential upgrade project in early January 2024."
