A Ballingry man spent the early hours of the morning banging at doors and shouting threats.

Kyle Richardson, 36, of Kirktoun Park, caused a commotion at two separate houses and has now appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on 7th July at an address in Lumphinnans, he attended at a house uninvited, kicked the door repeatedly, shouted, swore, demanded entry, made a threat of violence and uttered an intimidating and threatening comment.

On the same day at High Street, Cowdenbeath and Dunfermline police station, he shouted, swore, acted aggressively, struck a door, attempted to gain access and made threats of violence.

Depute fiscal Laura McManus said at 1am Richardson had gone to the house in Lumphinnans and started banging on the door.

The householder heard a male shouting, “Open the f****** door” and recognised the voice.

He was not allowed into the house and left.

At 5.30am Richardson was banging on the door again shouting, “Open the f****** door or I’m going to kill you.”

Just under an hour later he committed the Cowdenbeath offence. He was again banging on a door and shouting.

Defence solicitor Lee Qmsieh said his client was struggling with drug misuse at the time.

He had walked from Lochgelly to Cowdenbeath to try to see somebody and was “frustrated” when they would not come to the door.

The solicitor also pointed out his client had previously suffered serious injuries when he was thrown out of a second-floor window in an incident which resulted in multiple fractures.

Sheriff Wylie Robertson told Richardson that these injuries “clearly didn’t stop you walking a considerable distance”.

He imposed a six-month restriction of liberty order.
