A drunk woman threatened to stab people in a row about a ‘bully’ dog.

Claire Donaldson, 37, of Carden Castle Park, Cardenden, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on September 25 at Hyndloup Terrace, Cardenden, she repeatedly shouted and swore at two females, challenged them to fight, made threats of violence towards them and acted in an aggressive manner.

She also breached bail conditions on October 29 by entering Hyndloup Terrace.

Depute fiscal Laura McManus said the two women were in a garden along with the dog when Donaldson walked down a lane and “tried to engage” with the animal.

She was talking to the dog and was asked to stop doing so, which resulted in Donaldson becoming aggressive.

She made threats including: “I’m going to stab all of you.”

When charged by police, Donaldson said: “It was because they tried to get their dog on me, a bully dog.”

Defence solicitor Gino Gambale said his client believes the dog involved was a XL Bully.

He went on: “She’s incredibly remorseful.”

Sheriff Susan Duff commented: “It doesn’t come over that way in the social work report. She seems to be justifying what she did.”

The solicitor said: “Her position is the dog was set on her. She was intoxicated and there’s difficulties with alcohol.”

Sheriff Duff fined Donaldson £320.
