A 35 YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after a disturbance at Dunfermline Sheriff Court this afternoon.

Police raced to the scene shortly before 12.30pm.

It is understood the court building was cordoned off with police tape for a spell after a window was smashed at the entrance to the Carnegie Drive premises.

The incident comes a day after a police officer sustained minor injuries during a disturbance at the court.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20pm on Wednesday, 8 May, 2024, officers were made aware of a disturbance at a premises on Carnegie Drive, Dunfermline.

“A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.

“No one was injured.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service said: “We can confirm there was an incident at the court today (Wednesday) which involved damage to the property.

"There was no reported injuries in relation to staff or the public and court business was not affected.

"As this is now a live police investigation we cannot comment any further.”

The incident follows a disturbance yesterday (Tuesday) when a 25 year-old man was arrested after a disturbance incident inside the Carnegie Drive premises in which one police officer sustained minor injuries.
