THE end of the line for the three ladies of have kept Lochgelly Gala alive for more than a decade is a poignant moment in the town.

Eileen McKenna, Ella Ross and Christine McGrath have been instrumental in making gala day happen for longer than they can remember.

Their work with the Lochgelly Development Forum has been something that has done a lot of good work in the town and they will continue to work in that.

However, the gala will be under new people from now on and they will no doubt do well for there are hard workers in the team that will be looking after the gala.

But the efforts of the intrepid trio should be long remembered for they have managed to raise the funds and made things happen for a long time.

The fact that they are now going to take a backward step should not mean that they be forgotten.

Their efforts meant that the grand civic occasion kept going despite set-backs behind the scenes which never got them down.

Now it is all about looking ahead and the new team will have a lot of fresh ideas which they will want to put into action and good luck to them.

Job clubs are working well

IT is good to see the job clubs working well in Kelty and Kinglassie.

To see the enthusiasm shown by the jobseekers is tremendous and the support available for them is certain to make things happen for them.

Both the villages are growing and inevitably there will be men and women in them between jobs who need backing to get back into work.

But also young people who need backing for their future will be delighted to have the support of these facilities on their doorstep.

It is good that villages like Kelty and Kinglassie have these job clubs.

CLUBBER,

Kelty.
